Cluster

There are special moments in the deer woods. These moments, so incredible that if ever felt, you go the rest of your days hoping for one more chance to duplicate such. Everyone likes to say deer of a lifetime, or how their story is the best story ever to unfold in the hunting industry. Well, our team member Logan, experienced just that this past November. The story of Cluster will go down in our books as our once in a lifetime buck. A story that in our eyes nothing short of perfect.
This story began to unfold 3 years ago on an October afternoon when Logan was in the tree stand. He would go on to have an amazing hunt seeing three bucks over 160”. One of which was cluster. As soon as he laid eyes on that tall tight rack through the brush, he knew he was seeing something special. As what to be believed was a three-year-old with a typical 6x6 frame with split brows was within 100 yards of his stand.
He went on to spot the unnamed buck two more times throughout the season. After punching his tag on another deer, he had eyes set on next year’s target. After hours of preparation and work just to create that one special moment in the woods, the 2024 season was here. After seeing the deer show up on camera in October, his name was created. Cluster was seen in Logan’s food plot built specifically for that moment just before Thanksgiving. Logan was full-draw on the buck, only to let down as he turned and never gave another shot opportunity. Finishing the season Logan spotted the buck a total of three times, only to be eluded every time.
After nearly harvesting Cluster in 2024, it was clear this was only more motivation for the goal of finally laying hands on the buck. Logan went on to replant the food plot he had made for Cluster. Changing and tweaking minor details to have just one chance at the buck in the upcoming season. He first laid eyes on the buck in late July and knew he had a once in a lifetime opportunity on his hands. With all preseason preparations complete, it was a waiting game in hopes to get a picture on trail cameras of this legend.
As October starts to come to an end, the mature bucks are getting on their feet and exploring their fall breeding grounds. Still having not seen Cluster for over two months, Logan, having no idea if the buck was still alive, had a gut feeling he needed to be in the woods. On October 23rd that gut feeling would lead to Logan’s incredible moment in the woods all hunters crave to feel. After slipping into the stand as fast as he could after work, Logan would soon look up and see his tall, dark, and shear massive rack heading his way. The buck acted as calm as could be taking his time making his way straight to Logan’s stand. Eight minutes after spotting the buck 65 yards away Logan released his arrow.
In an amazing cinematic scenario Logan had just accomplished the near impossible. Harvesting a whitetail buck over 200” with his bow. In utter shock after not seeing the buck for two months, Logan was fortunate enough to be the first person to ever touch this magnificent buck. This is what dreams are made of, and this is what hunters live for. It makes all the hours and sweat equity worth it. All the late nights’ game planning and worrying about this awesome deer were finally worth it. A three-year story, with a fairy tale ending. For Logan, and the Trophy & Thread Co team this is our once in a lifetime, incredible story.
